The firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Tax Manager to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities:

VAT Advisory: The VAT Assistant Manager will provide expert VAT advice to a wide range of clients, including multinational corporations, SMEs, and private clients. This will involve advising on complex VAT matters, including VAT planning, structuring, and compliance.

Client Relationship Management: The successful candidate will assist in managing client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery and acting as a trusted advisor on VAT-related issues. They will support the team in responding to client queries and identifying opportunities to add value.

VAT Compliance: The VAT Assistant Manager will support the team in overseeing VAT compliance for a portfolio of clients. This includes preparing and reviewing VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions, and ensuring clients remain compliant with VAT legislation.

Technical Expertise: The role involves providing technical input and support on a variety of VAT-related matters, keeping up to date with the latest changes in VAT law and practice. The VAT Assistant Manager will be expected to contribute to complex projects and provide solutions for clients' VAT challenges.

Team Collaboration and Mentoring: The VAT Assistant Manager will work closely with senior team members and will have the opportunity to mentor junior staff. They will support the development of the team by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Business Development: The successful candidate will contribute to the firm’s business development efforts by identifying potential VAT opportunities within existing client portfolios and assisting with the preparation of proposals for new business.

Internal Stakeholder Engagement: The VAT Assistant Manager will collaborate with other departments within the firm, including audit, tax, and corporate finance, to provide integrated solutions for clients and enhance cross-departmental service delivery.
Key Skills & Experience:

ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified (or equivalent) or have significant relevant VAT experience.

A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in VAT advisory and compliance, preferably within a professional services environment.

Solid knowledge of UK VAT legislation and experience advising on complex VAT matters.

Experience of managing VAT compliance for a portfolio of clients, including preparing and reviewing VAT returns.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the development of junior staff.

Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a keen eye for detail.

Experience with VAT technology systems and a strong understanding of their practical application would be an advantage.
